Another Week Gone By.

Not much has happened this week to tell of. We had some visitors from the States over this week. It was interesting with them around, felt like a little taste of home. They were from a small town in Wisconsin and were coming from a church. The pastor of the church was with them and spoke to us on Monday. It was good to have a "Western" preacher again and I found it really nice to be able to listen without straining to understand. Later, they kept asking us questions about the culture and things, like we were really experienced. Compared to them though, we were. It kinda gave me a reassuring feeling of okay I got it. I think I have this whole other culture thing down. Isaiah 43:5 " Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
   I will bring your children from the east
   and gather you from the west. "
PS. Sorry its so short this week.

  4. I feel like I should know this, but... what language is the main language in Uganda? Are you studying a new language?
    One of my favorite songs is "He Reigns" by Peter Furler and Steve Taylor...
    "It's the song of the redeemed raising from the african plain.
    It's song of the forgiven drowing out the amazon rain.
    The song of Asian believers filled with God's holy fire."
    anyway I thought of that as I read the end of your post.
    Looking forward to you next post.

  5. I'm enjoying reading your blog. How about some photos too? watched the Kony2012 video recently and wondered if you will be working with orphans while you're there.

  7. Hey everyone thanks for the response. I am doing well. Everything is going good so far and I actually wanted to include this verse, I was looking so hard for it on Saturday; "Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household." Isn't it great that we are all members of Him no matter how far apart we may be? The whole world is His!!
    To answer your questions, the official language here is English so we don't really 'need' to learn a new language but the majority of the people speak Luganda or some tribal language so I have been trying to learn some Luganda. Also I have heard that song a number of times already being here and I have to say I enjoy it also. Perfect addition to this week's blog, thanks. Photos are on facebook. It takes twenty minutes to upload one so thats all you get until I get back. We don't work a whole lot with orphans but thats not to say we don't at all. We go were God leads. :P
